EVERTON Makes New Gold and Copper Surface Discovery on the Fresso Property, DR
Everton Resources Inc. ( TSX-V: EVR, Frankfurt: ERV) (" Everton") is pleased to announce the preliminary surface results on the newly optioned Fresso concession located in northwestern Dominican Republic. Everton has the option to acquire a 100% interest in the Fresso concession over a period of up to two years.
In August 2008, a comprehensive surface evaluation program, which included a detailed systematic soil and rock sampling program, stream sampling and geological mapping, was carried out on the 66-km2 Fresso concession to follow-up on field observations where extensive zones of disseminated sulphide mineralization, occurring within the siliceous bedded chert, were recognized.
A total of 2,181 soil samples have been collected to-date in a 100m x 100m grid. Results from the 2,041 samples received thus far show multi-element anomalies in gold, copper and pathfinder elements over a span of approximately four kilometres. Soil anomalies include:
· 10 samples grading over 100 ppb Au, including peak values of 1.9 g/t and 0.98 g/t gold
· 78 samples grading over 200 ppm Cu, including peak values of 0.12% and 0.13% copper
These anomalies coincide with showings of mineralization, which are strongly silicified locally, in the form of gossanous chert & andesite and copper oxide minerals. Abundant placer workings for alluvial gold have been found in the sampled area. Of the 185 rock grab samples collected to-date, preliminary results have returned:
· 7 samples grading over 100 ppb Au, including a high value 9.6 g/t gold
· 23 samples grading over 200 ppm Cu, including high values of 4.15% and 3.9% copper
A pilot study of active stream sediments (27 samples spaced by 250m) in three different drainages that crosscut the mineralization have yielded significant anomalies including 8.17 g/t, 4.0 g/t and 2.9 g/t gold. This pilot study is being followed up with a comprehensive sampling of the entire concession. Mapping and sampling is ongoing and should be completed within the next two months.
In June 2008, Everton announced the presence of numerous significant IP anomalies which correlate with the geochemical results. These anomalies will be integrated with the new results and will consist of high-priority targets for the drill program planned for this fall. The drill program will consist of 5 to 10 diamond drill holes of depths ranging between 75 and 150 metres.
This press release was prepared under the supervision of Marc L’Heureux, P. Geo. and VP Exploration of Everton, who acts as Everton’s Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
