EVERTON AND LINEAR TRENCH UP TO 6.65 G/T GOLD OVER 22 METERS AT THE AMPLIACION PUEBLO VIEJO CONCESSION IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – EVERTON ANNOUNCES A NEW DIRECTOR

Everton Resources Inc. (TSX-V: EVR, Frankfurt: ERV) and its partner Linear Gold Corp. (TSX: LRR) have completed a 794-meter trenching program consisting of 8 trenches at the La Lechoza prospect, on the northern portion of the Ampliacion Pueblo Viejo concession located in the central part of the Dominican Republic, adjacent to the north-western edge of the Barrick/Goldcorp’s Pueblo Viejo 18 million ounce gold deposit.

The best intercept was obtained from trench LT-11 where 6.65 g/t gold and 18.8 g/t silver were cut over 22 meters, including 22.1 g/t gold and 48.6 g/t silver over 4 meters. Significant intercepts are listed in the table below:

Several additional intercepts were cut in trenches LT- 13 and LT-14 yielding respectively 1.13 g/t gold over 18 meters and 4.35 g/t gold over 10 meters.  These grades confirm and expand the zone of mineralization discovered by Linear Gold in previous trenching programs conducted in this area between 2003 and 2005.

For photos of the trenches, please visit Everton’s website at www.evertonresources.com.  The trenches were excavated to an average depth of 2 meters using an excavator and continuous 2-meter long channel samples were collected from the bottom of the trenches. From the 483 samples collected, a total of 460 samples have been received from the lab to date.  In conjunction with the trenching program, surveying and mapping for lithologies, structures, alteration and mineralization have been conducted.

The geology observed in the trenches consists mostly of strong argillicly altered volcanic dacites and minor andesites.  The mineralization observed occurs as massive iron oxide gossan and as disseminated and stockwork veins of oxidized sulphides.  The system has a complex geometry and mapping efforts are underway to construct the model of the mineralization.

Mapping program

As part of the current regional mapping campaign, Everton and Linear are conducting a comprehensive soil and rock sampling program on the Ampliacion Pueblo Viejo concession.  To date, 1274 soil samples covering the entire south-western sector of the concession have returned values up to 2.19 g/t gold.   While results for 406 samples from this survey are still pending, several anomalous areas are emerging.

Soil sampling is currently underway in the central and northern sectors of the concession, including the area around the La Lechoza prospect.  The partners plan to collect approximately 3,000 soils samples on a 100m x 100m grid. This comprehensive mapping and sampling program on the Ampliacion Pueblo Viejo concession should be completed this fall followed by drill testing the best targets.

The samples were processed by Acme Laboratories at their new facilities in the Dominican Republic and were assayed in Vancouver, British Columbia by ICP Mass Spectrometry following digestion in aqua regia of 15 grams of pulp.

New Board Member

Everton is pleased to announce the nomination of Brooke Macdonald to the Board of Directors.  “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Macdonald as an independent Director to Everton. His knowledge and experience will be of considerable value to the Company as it advances toward its goal of becoming a premier gold and base metals exploration company” said Andre Audet, Chairman and CEO.

Brooke Macdonald is Vice-President Legal Affairs & Secretary of Skye Resources Inc. (TSX-SKR).  He has more than 18 years experience in the mining industry, specializing in exploration and mine development joint ventures in Latin America, as legal counsel and as Placer Dome’s country manager in Venezuela.  He is knowledgeable in corporate and mining law in North and Latin America, is a member of the New York Bar, and earned his law degree from Queen’s University in Ontario.

Mr. Macdonald fills the vacant Board seat created by Ron Little, who did not stand for re-election at Everton’s recent AGM. “We would also like to take the opportunity to thank Ron Little for his significant contribution to the Board over the years.  We are glad that Ron will remain on the company’s Advisory Committee” stated Andre Audet.

This press release was prepared under the supervision of Marc L’Heureux, P.Geo., Everton’s Vice-President of Exploration, who acts as the ‘Qualified Person” as described by NI 43-101.

Everton is well funded and actively exploring in the Opinaca region of James Bay, Quebec where Everton has amassed one of the largest land claims adjacent to Goldcorp’s (NYSE: GG, TSX: G) Eleonore gold deposit where Goldcorp recently announced an initial gold resource of 2.8 million ounces.  Everton is also actively exploring in the Dominican Republic adjacent to where the world’s largest gold mining company, Barrick Gold (NYSE/TSX: ABX) is partnering with Goldcorp to develop, at an estimated cost of $2.3 billion, the Pueblo Viejo deposit, that contains 18.1 million ounces of gold, 2.6 billion pounds of zinc, 358 million pounds of copper and 88 million ounces of silver.
