Everton updates its activities in James Bay, Quebec
Ottawa August 17th, 2005. Everton Resources (TSXV-EVR)
Wildcat (100% Everton)
Everton Resources Inc. has now begun its field program on its Wildcat Project
located in the Virginia’s Eleonore gold discovery area, of James Bay Quebec. The
Wildcat Project is comprised of 7 different blocks covering a total of 302.8
km2. One of the blocks is located 3 km from the Eleonore gold discovery. The
program consists mainly of rock sampling and till sampling. A systematic
lake-bottom sediment survey of 265 samples was recently completed and results
are pending. Rock samples will be sent for assaying on a regular basis to the
laboratory. The objective of this program is to generate target areas that will
be followed up with a more focused exploration program in the fall.
Opinaca (option to earn up to 65% from Azimut)
The reconnaissance program is well underway over the four blocks of the 285 km2
Opinaca project. Systematic reconnaissance lines with an emphasis on aggressive
rock sampling are being conducted on four different blocks of the project. Two
blocks are adjacent to Virginia’s properties. First observations allowed for the
recognition of metamorphosed sediments and volcanics in contact with intrusive
rocks. Sediments are often mineralized with finely bedded or disseminated pyrite
and arsenopyrite. More than 200 lake-bottom sediment samples were also collected
in order to define high potential exploration sectors on the properties. The
first phase of reconnaissance is to be completed by the end of August. A second
phase of field work will begin in early September on the most prospective
sectors.
Based on field observations a total of 70 claims covering 37 km2 were recently added to one of the Opinaca block to secure a larger land package.
Other properties in James Bay (100% Everton)
Everton holds 10 other blocks of properties covering 995 km2 in the James Bay
area. All the blocks are characterized by the presence of lake-bottom anomalies
in gold. Work programs are currently being designed to advance these new
properties. One of the blocks, the Eastmain block, is covered by metasediments
and metavolcanic rocks in contact with intrusive rocks. This block is situated
between two properties optioned independently to Azimut Exploration Inc. by
Placer Dome Inc. and Cambior Inc.
All rock samples are assayed at the Laboratoires Expert of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec
and field work is conducted by IOS Services Géoscientifiques of Chicoutimi,
Quebec under the supervision of Marc L’Heureux, P.Geo., who act as the
“Qualified Person” as requested by the NI 43-101.
Everton is a well-financed junior company with gold and base metal properties in the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and James Bay, Quebec.
