Everton and Linear Commence Exploration Program on the Ampliacion Concession in the Pueblo Viejo District, Dominican Republic

Everton Resources (TSX-V: EVR, Frankfurt: ERV) and joint venture partner Linear Gold (TSX: LRR) are pleased to announce that an extensive soil and rock geochemical survey has commenced in preparation for the late summer / early fall drill program on the Ampliacion concession situated in the central Dominican Republic. This concession is adjacent to the northwestern edge of Barrick/Goldcorp's Pueblo Viejo deposit that contains 18.1 million ounces of gold, 2.6 billion pounds of zinc, 358 million pounds of copper and 88 million ounces of silver.

The survey will consist of the collection of at least 2,300 soil samples spaced over a 100 m x 100 m grid in two different areas within the concession. Rock samples are also being collected along the traverses as mineralized and/or hydro-thermally altered exposures are located. The first area being surveyed is located immediately adjacent to the western border of the Pueblo Viejo deposit. Please visit Everton's website by clicking here for a surface relief map of the Ampliacion concession illustrating the proximity and similarity to the Pueblo Viejo gold zones.

Everton recently completed a comprehensive airborne magnetic and electromagnetic (AEM) survey over all of the Company's concessions in the Pueblo Viejo area, including the recently optioned Ampliacion concession. A total of over 2,700 line-km were flown spaced at 100 m intervals surveyed from approximately 30 m above the ground. The preliminary data suggests the presence of EM conductors on the Ampliacion concession. Final data leveling and corrections are being completed by Fugro and Everton expects the final results to be available in mid June.

A detailed mapping program will also begin next week with the addition of new geological staff. The mapping program will establish the exact stratigraphy, alteration assemblage and mineralisation of the Ampliacion concession and the correlation with the Pueblo Viejo deposit.

The western part of the Ampliacion concession is underlain by extensively altered volcanics and sediments of the Upper Los Ranchos Formation. The alteration is widespread argillic and supergene oxidation / lateralization, cross-cut by zones of intense silicification. Silica occurrences have been observed including veining in a wide range of sizes ranging from micro-veining to one-meter in size. Texture ranges from micro-crystalline (chalcedonic/jasperoid) to crystalline/vuggy. The iron oxides content varies widely, ranging from nil to quite massive (gossan). Ferricrete deposits are also common especially in lower elevations along drainages.

Soil and rock samples will be shipped to Laboratoire Expert Inc in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, for gold assay using FA-AA. Multi-element ICP scan assays will be completed at Activation Laboratory in Ancaster, Ontario.

This press release was prepared under the supervision of Marc L'Heureux, P.Geo., Everton's Vice-President of Exploration, who acts as the "Qualified Person" as described by NI 43-101.

Everton is well funded and actively exploring in the Opinaca region of James Bay, Quebec where Everton has amassed one of the largest land claims adjacent to the Eleonore gold discovery, and where Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE:GG, TSX:G) is proposing to spend several hundreds of millions of dollars developing its recent property acquisition. Everton is also actively exploring in the Dominican Republic adjacent to where the world's largest gold mining company, Barrick Gold (NYSE/TSX:ABX) is partnering with Goldcorp to develop, at an estimated cost of $2.3 billion, the Pueblo Viejo deposit, that contains 18.1 million ounces of gold, 2.6 billion pounds of zinc, 358 million pounds of copper and 88 million ounces of silver.
