EVERTON BEGINS DRILLING THE TRES BOCAS MASSIVE SULFIDE DISCOVERY, LOMA EL MATE CONCESSION, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Everton Resources Inc. (EVR – TSX-V)is pleased to announce that a 9-hole drill program has begun at the Tres Bocas Prospect on the Loma el Mate concession, located 5 kilometres southeast of Barrick Gold’s Pueblo Viejo mine, in the Dominican Republic.
The drill program aims at defining the continuity and the extensions of the high grade massive sulphide intercepts discovered in May 2006, where a cut of 10.58 meters, grading 2.96 g/t gold, 104.91 g/t silver, 2.03% copper and 9.41% zinc was obtained in hole TBM-07. Hole TBM-12, collared 50 metres southeast of hole TBM-07, intercepted 4.57 metres, grading 1.36 g/t gold, 119.98 g/t silver, 0.75% copper and 8.05 % zinc (press release of May 17, 2006).
The drill program is based on a recent review of all geophysical and geological data followed by detailed mapping on the Tres Bocas discovery area. Two of the nine holes proposed in this program will also be testing a surface gold-bearing gossan overlying the massive sulphides, where a 6-metre intercept returned 1.67 g/t gold (press release of Jan 17, 2006).
Everton and Linear Gold Corp. are joint venture partners sharing an equal interest in the Loma el Mate concession.
