Everton Resources Inc. And Globestar Mining Corp. Announce Metallugical Results From The Dona Amanda Copper-Gold System, Dominican Republic
EVERTON RESOURCES INC. (EVR – TSXV) and its partner GlobeStar Mining Corporation (TSXV.GMI) are pleased to announce preliminary metallurgical tests on the 45 million ton Dona Amanda copper/gold inferred resource in the Dominican Republic.
The tests were carried out by SGS Lakefield Laboratories, of Ontario Canada. Two techniques were tested, firstly to test the amenability of the ore to Solvent Extraction/Electro-winning (SX/EW) to produce copper metal and secondly to test the flotation method to produce copper and gold in a concentrate.
The rock tested was from a geologically representative composite sample from drillhole DDH 19, selected from an intersection of 042% copper and 0.31 gpt gold over 67 metres (see release of March 4th 2004).

The ferric leach test was carried out under ideal laboratory conditions. The results are indicative that low-cost, leaching processes like SX/EW are worthy of further investigation. Actual recoveries in a commercial heap leach operation are predicted to be somewhat lower than this preliminary test, but the results clearly show that a high proportion of the copper minerals readily leach.
The flotation results are most encouraging. The high recoveries of both copper and gold demonstrate that the two metals can be recovered together by conventional methods. A total of 89.5 per cent of the copper was recovered in 15.8 per cent of the rock processed, including 81.6 per cent of the copper recovered in 6.63 per cent of the rock processed, demonstrating that the ore is amenable to simple flotation.
Following these encouraging results, further testing and scoping studies are being commissioned.
The deposit has been described as a close to surface secondary enrichment copper blanket, open in all directions, where a very large copper/gold-bearing volcanic centre has been enriched by deep weathering processes. Plans are under way for a drilling program to commence in second quarter 2004 to attempt to increase tonnage. In addition to the Dona Amanda development the partners are carrying out 90 kilometres of induced polarization (IP) geophysical surveys and extensive mapping on the Bayaguana and Cuance groups of properties, which are adjacent to Placer Dome's giant Pueblo Viejo gold mine. Drilling of existing and newly generated targets will also commence in second quarter 2004.
Everton is earning 50 per cent of the Bayaguana group of properties, which includes the Dona Amanda project, by expending $1.5-million (U.S.) over two years, plus a further $500,000 (U.S.) before Globestar is required to contribute.
Mark L'Hereaux is the qualified person (QP) for the Bayaguana joint venture.
