Everton Appoints Brook Macdonald VP, New Business Development

Everton Resources has appointed Hugh Brooke Macdonald as vice-president, new business development and general counsel of the corporation. Mr. Macdonald is a bilingual (English/Spanish) lawyer specializing in contract negotiations, direct foreign investment and joint ventures in the mining industry in Latin America. A graduate of Queen's University and a member of the New York bar, he has extensive experience representing mining companies, first as an associate at the Caracas office of international law firm Baker & McKenzie, and later as Placer Dome's legal counsel for exploration in Latin America and president of Placer Dome de Venezuela S.A. "Brooke brings a unique skill set to Everton. He has been a key player in the acquisition of mineral rights to several world-class gold deposits and the permitting and construction of operating mines in Latin America," said Andre Audet, chairman and chief executive officer. "I am confident that, working with other recent appointments to senior management (see release in Stockwatch dated Dec. 17, 2003), he will help us move quickly to expand our presence in the region and achieve our goal of becoming one of the premier gold exploration companies in the market in 2004."

Everton Resources also has granted 300,000 incentive stock options of the company to Mr. Macdonald at a price of 40 cents per share for a period of five years. These new options are subject to regulatory and shareholder approval.
